What does silence look like?

Silence used to be golden, but current economic conditions have turned it bronze.

"Why did silence cross the road?"

"I don't know."

"To go to a bar."

Silence walked into a bar and the bartender said, "What will it be?"

Silence said, "Shhhhhhhhh!"

The bartender served shhhhhhhhh! to silence.  Silence drank it, paid, and left.

"Why did silence cross the road?"

"To go to a bar?"

"No, to go back home.  It had just left the bar."

"Where does silence live?"

"Unfortunately nowhere near me."

If silence falls in the forest, and no one is there not to listen, is there still no noise?

QUIET IS REQUESTED FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO LISTEN TO THE VOICES IN THEIR HEADS

THREE SIGNS THAT GOT DELAYED BY PUBLIC TRANSIT AND DID NOT MAKE IT TO YESTERDAY'S BLOG

It's okay for me to lean against the doors.  My name is not Danger.

This sign is an optical illusion.  What it really says is, "MAKE NOISE!  TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE!  DISTURB YOUR NEIGHBOURS!"    (I don't see those words, but many people do.)

At three o'clock in the morning, I would love to call up the owner of a business and ask, "Are you really sorry that your business is closed?"

MY WATCH

What a pleasure to look at my watch!  It is simple.  It displays the time.  That is all it does.  That is its only function.  It is not a computer, calculator, calendar, camera or toilet.  I have only to look at it to see the time.  No logon I.D.  No password.  No application.  No keypad.  

How refeshing seeing such simplicity!  We live in a time when our lives are complicated with the Internet, e-mail, text messages, cell phones, computers, etc.  I am not against this technology, but how hard to get away from it.  We are surrounded by it.

For the few seconds I look at my watch, I am transported away from the chaotic digital circus.  I am taken to Simple -- a place of silence, peace and quiet.  I return restored and rejuvenated.  I go on vacation every time I look at my watch!
